A group of researchers have converted fibroblasts (connective tissue cells) to cells which greatly resemble embryonic cells. They looked at the histone structure and it is nearly the same as that found in embryonic cells. That is, the DNA was programmed to an early stage.
No mention was made of the use of such cells in Cancer but, if my theory is correct, injecting such cells into cancerous growths could revert the cancer to normal cells. It remains to be seen if the cancer will revert to what it was before turning cancerous or if the cancer will differentiate into an embryo-like structure. If the latter, then we still have to deal with a "growth" but it probably will have lost its malignant properties. It should not continue to differentiate into a fetus because a fetus needs a womb to continue its development. It may be that no surgical intervention will be required because the body's own defenses (lymphocytes) may have time to attack the cancer. The immune system fails in malignancies because the cancer is undergoing rapid changes that the immune system can not keep up with.
